The courses on offer are as follows: Sail Level 1 to 4, Seamanship and Assistant Instructor. These courses are normally offered to young persons during Sail Training Week which traditionally takes place at the end of July, using instructors from various clubs. Due to organisational difficulties, we do not at present offer these courses outside Sail Training Week. Power Level 1, 2 and SafetyWendCoxwain. Level 1 – Start Powerboating – courses normally take place for young persons during Sail Training week.  This undertow is an introduction to wend handling and safety in powerboats which is platonic for young persons (minimum age is 8 years) or to provide a ‘taster’ type undertow for adults.Elapsingis one day, which for young persons is made up of 2 half day sessions. The pupil/instructor ratio is 3:1 and the undertow normally takes place in one of the clubs Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBS). Level 2 –  Powerboat Handling – This undertow is often referred to as the ‘Powerboat Driving Licence’. It teaches wend handling and seamanship together with other topics such as vital navigation, launch and recovery and emergency procedures. This undertow is equally suitable for novices or the increasingly experienced requiring a nationally recognised qualification. The elapsing is 2 days with a pupil/instructor ratio of 3:1. No previous wits is required to undertake this undertow and it is not necessary to undertake the level 1 undertow first. Minimum age requirement is 12 years. It is moreover the minimum requirement for anyone helming the club RIBS. Safety BoatUndertow– SafetyWendCoxwain – This is a specific undertow to teach the requirements for safety wend crews tent both sail training and racing aspects. It covers topics such as race management, rescuing persons from the water, offering assistance to capsized dinghies, windsurfers and other craft and rescue from a lee shore. This undertow is mandatory for SafetyWendCoxwains during Sail Training Week and recommended for those who wish to helm the club RIBS during club racing. International Cruising Certificate – As an RYA recognised club, these can be issued if the member meets the required criterion. Please note that if you have Powerboat Level 2, an ICC for powerboats up to 10m can be automatically issued by the RYA. There will be a tuition if you are not an RYA member. Powerboat Intermediate and Advanced courses are not at present offered by the club but we have arrangements with local commercial training establishments who offer these. Please speak to the office if you are interested in undertaking one of these courses. Supporting Courses RYA First Aid This undertow covers all aspects of maritime first aid including drowning and unprepossessed water shock. It is equally valuable in daily life.  Duration is one day. Radio Short Range (VHF) Certificate Due to recent changes in procedures for the undertow and exam, it is no longer viable for the club to offer this course.  However, we do have arrangements for members to undertake this undertow with a local commercial supplier.Undertowbooking procedures First aid courses take place throughout the year and are shown on the undertow calendar, using instructors who are club members.  Approximately two months surpassing the undertow a form will be displayed on the club noticeboard.  Please suspend your name or contact the office. Powerboat Level 1,2 and SafetyWend– please well-constructed a Powerboat Booking Form and return it to the office.  Whenever possible, we use instructors who are club members but on occasions it may be necessary to use external instructors. Payment for coursesUndertowfees will be invoiced by the office in the same way for other events.  Please note that the club reserves the right to tuition the full fee in the event of late receipt or ‘no shows’, expressly when expenses such as external instructors have been incurred.
